Mindy Kaplan
Owner/President
Mindy Kaplan is the Founder and President of Minkap, LLC. She started the firm in 2013 to help non-profits and other small service-based and professional businesses understand their financials and use that knowledge to make the best decisions to move their organizations and missions forward. “It’s a privilege to serve our non-profit and small business clients. We support them by doing what we do best so they can do what they do best,” she says.
Prior to starting Minkap, Mindy had 10 years of accounting experience in a wide variety of industries and roles, including Big 4 audit, Fortune 500 internal audit and accounting, and Investment Banking finance. She developed a passion for non-profits as a volunteer serving on local non-profit boards, and quickly realized how personalized, quality, accounting and finance support helps them flourish and grow their missions.
Mindy earned both a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and a Master of Accountancy with a concentration in Information Systems from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville. She is a Certified Nonprofit Accounting Professional (CNAP) and a Certified Quickbooks Online Proadvisor.

Lara Smith
Client Services Manager
Lara is a seasoned financial services professional with experience working in large public accounting firms as well as small boutique financial services firms. She supports clients with their day-to-day accounting transactions and special projects. Lara earned a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Georgia and a Master of Business Administration from Florida State University. She is QBO Certified.

Pat Aguilar
Client Services Associate
Pat has over 18 years accounting and QuickBooks experience. She manages the processing of accounts payables and receivables, ensuring the accuracy and proper classification of all transactions. She is proficient in many accounting related softwares, such as Bill.com, Neon, etc.
